A-frickin-men! This is been doing my head in. Especially when the picture is dark as hell and they say "sorry for the bad picture", its like if you know its bad take a different one or if you don't have strong lighting then don't take pictures at night.
The only time I'd say "sorry for the bad pic" is if I take one with my phone instead of my camera or its an old photo from before I had a camera.
But if you say anything girls get so defensive and upity, then 5 other girls jump in and be like "rahrahrah you're such a bitch" ugh!! -end rant-
During the day I tend to near my front door because its glass and gives good lighting.
And at night I take them in the bathroom because the lights the strongest. I know it doesnt look as good when you see the shower behind me or whatever but its better than a dark photo.

Completely agree, bathroom is the best place at night, yes it sucks having the restroom in the pic, but if you really don't want that in the picture then don't take one at night. I don't think I have ever had anyone get mad at me for suggesting a better picture, but honestly with a lot of threads I comment on I unfollow them afterwards because I don't care enough.

I've seen soo many bitchy girls on here getting all snarky over a little suggestion or if you don't agree with them on something. Its like c'mon ladies, thats such high school bullshit.. grow up already.
Yeah I usually comment once or twice on something then never bother looking at it again, unless its really interesting or I'm having a conversation with someone.

Yeah, I have seen some of that drama crap, but never noticed any over a suggestion for a better picture, though it is rare someone asks for/suggests one and I don't pay too much attention unless it really interests me. also.

I definitely agree. Girls, make sure your pics are of decent quality so we can actually see the makeup.

Tara G., here is actually a video on how you shouldn't use HD powder for photos, only film and why. http://www.beautylish.com/v/yiyrqi/miley-cyrus-makeup-malfunction-return-of-the-white-powder.

I agree a lot with Brittany on the photoshop thing. I honestly see so many pictures that to me are OBVIOUSLY heavily photoshopped, or else edited through use of another programme. I can especially notice this when, as Brittany mentioned, I see the skin looks not only flawless, but really airbrushed and in my eyes, utterly fake. It's hard to describe, but I see it very often and I recognize it quickly, as I myself have some experience with photoshop.
I have myself admittedly used photoshop to blur out edges of a photo to make the eye make up stand out more. But when it comes to editing make up, I do not do this. I have done it some of my very old pictures, where I edited the skin because I was embarrassed at how bad my acne was, and that it showed even through the make up. However, if anyone was to ask if some of the old pictures were edited, I would tell them straight away if they were or weren't.
I do not do that anymore, at all. I don't want people to think the products I use are any better than they really are. This is another point I really want to stress. Whenever I see photoshopped, "perfect" skin, I immediately think people will be fooled by this, thinking whatever foundation or powder that person is using is something they MUST have, because it will give them the exact same results. This is even WORSE when people edit eyeshadows with either filters or just by enhancing the colours with certain tools. You will basically end up fooling people to think that the eyeshadow is more pigmented and/or looks completely different than what it really does. I think eye makeup should never be edited for that reason alone, in a community like Beautylish where we all want to learn from each other and know what products we're using and how well they work, it will be deceptive in those regards.
However, I don't care much if say, some people here heavily photoshop all their pictures here with either different tools or filters but are honest and open about it. From now on, whenever I edit the make up in one of my pictures, I always make sure to write something like "this was edited in photoshop" under it, so as to make people aware that the make up might look different on them if they were to be inclined to purchase the products used in the picture.

Gen B, I personally find it to not be such a big deal. I can easily tell when someone has heavily edited their photos. But for some people it is deceptive, in a way. And there are many here who don't have a trained eye so they don't see it, and think that's what it really looks like. Like I said, I don't think it's a big deal IF you are open and honest about it.

I am not a big fan of photoshop. I can usually tell when something has been photoshopped, and I understand it for SOMEthings, but when you are asking us questions about your makeup then leave alone, because otherwise the answer is untruthful, we see what you made in the photo and it is completely different from what you have going on in real life, which is why you should be asking us anyways, to make sure it is good to go out in.
