Thanks everyone. No, Lara, I'm not a makeup artist - I'd love to be! And I haven't studied it either, just worn it from a very young age. My mum got me some proper makeup when I was 9 because from even much younger than that I insisted on painting my face or putting makeup on using my 'barbie makeup kit' and I think she just thought it would be better to get me some nice makeup than for me to smear crap all over my face all the time haha. So she got me that and taught me the basics of how to apply it (she's good at makeup herself and very artistic and creative so I had a good teacher :). From then I was just fascinated by it and I used to copy the makeup that I saw on posters of celebrities in magazines - that helped me more than anything. I'm going to college in September to hopefully open up some doors into doing makeup as a career. And now I'm rambling... Haha. You probably didn't want/need to know all that at all! But yeah practise makes perfect and I guess me copying celebrities makeup from magazines is similar to the way we now watch makeup tutorials or copy looks we see in these makeup communities so I'd definitely recommend that over anything :)
