I bleached my hair yesterday and the bleach I used got everything but the top which was black. There's a reddish copper color now. How do I fix this? Help!

You need a toner to cancel out that color. Lifting hair from black is difficult because there's so many levels to pull through. But depending on the reddish copper, you need a green or blue based toner. I'd say go to a beauty supply store and ask their advice so they can see the actual color in person and help you figure out which one would work best.

Oo ok. well, in that case, if you're trying to get a bright red, you need a double process. which unfortunately means you need to put the bleach back on :[ BUT...there's lots of stuff to do to help the integrity of your hair. Wait about a week to let it rest before doing it again. During that time use conditioning treatments religiously. even go out and get some coconut oil and let it sit on your hair for a while. This is building up strength for when the bleach goes back on. But you only want to put the bleach on the parts that are still yucky. Don't let it touch the blonde parts. Then let it process again, it's kinda the thing where you have to watch it. With all that black dye in there, it's going to take some time, but since you're done it once, this will come out a bit better. Let me know if that helps or if you need further info :]. I'm used to just doing it on people, So I may have made it a little confusing.

Are you trying to turn it blonde or red?

I bleached the black out of my hair a few weeks ago. My advice is to definitely wait at least a week as Megan has said. I got impatient and bleached mine twice back to back. Fried hair, breakage, and wouldn't hold a color afterwards. Had to have it cut.

You shouldn't use bleach to strip out the color there's strippers specifically for removing color it actually causes less damage than bleach.
