I want to grow my hair out, but it's so thick and heavy that once it gets a few inches passed my shoulders it starts giving me nonstop headaches. Is there anyway I can have long hair without the headaches?

Just ask your hairdresser to thin out you hair! x

I've tried that, it still doesn't work and my hair gets so wavy and frizzy that it doesn't look good.

I believe some haircuts can make it feel lighter :)

I had the same problem. Thinning really works. Also, lots of layers.

What if you ware it up in a pony tale and occasionally start waring it down so you get used to it.

Try side bangs, loads of layers, and loads of thinning. I have to do this every time I get my hair cut or I get headaches as well because its too think. Hope this helps!

I found thinning to definitely cause more frizziness and accentuates split ends. I would go for LONG layers (short layers may cause your hair to look poofy because of the thickness). Go for bangs to lighten it up and maybe find hairstyles that keep the weight off the back of your head, which hurts your neck and causes headaches.

İ have headaches too what I do is I put it in a thight bun for an hour and release it and I keep doing that for the day. Tie it all up when I go sleep.

What did your hair stylist use thinning shears or the razor? It is always an experiment what sort of products do you use for your hair?

When texturing the hair you have to know what your doing as a stylist ( I have a cosmetology license) depending on the hair type I decide which tool is best shear or razor, I have for thick course curly hair done mild "thinning" where they the client could see how the hair reacts to determine whether or not they want it more texturized the next cut.. Also thinning out the hair does not accentuate split ends it can however cause damage to fine or normal hair especially when the razor is used too much. Split ends are just that. I point cut fine/normal hair depending on the persons hair density
