If you want to go blonde and you have colored hair you need to use a higher volume of peroxide like 40 and put it on the ends of your hair going up not to the root. Your roots are virgin hair so they will turn the quickest. Try it again don't put it on the roots until the last 5-8 min. It might take a while for your hair to lift. Try putting a plastic cap or plastic bag on your head and hit it with the blow dryer. The heat is what helps process the hair. Hope this helps")

40? That's too much. use a 20.

20 won't lift the dark out! The higher the volume the more the lift. You take it off when you are at the color you want.

40 made my hair fall out.

Do a strand test on a small portion of hair to see if it will be strong enough to handle the 40 volume. you will need a really good conditioner afterwards no matter what!

Her hair isn't dark enough for a 40 and the light pieces with a 40 will turn too jelly. Not a good idea in my opinion.

I'm thinking about just taking a blonde dye to the dark parts. My hair hates bleach.
