To go in a sunbed tonight or not? I'm really indecisive :(

No! It permanently damages your skin, use self tanner or get a spray tab instead. You can get skin cancer if you go in a sunbed!

Sunbeds increase the chance of skin cancer by 75% if its your first time between the ages of 15 to 27, it's really dangerous

The sun is healthy, you get vitamins from it but theoretically speaking the tanning bed just shoots light on your skin forcing a tan. And was Yasmine said also. :)

They increase chances of melenoma by 75% as jasmine said especially if you're young and are naturally white.
not only does it cause cancer but it ages your skin causing it wrinkles.
please stick to self tanner.
white skin is beautiful too, just as beautiful as tanned skin.

I work in a tanning salon and we hear this stuff every day
the people that work at tanning salons are trained to put you in the right bed for the right ammount of time so you don't burn
burning iis what causes skin cancer not tanning itself
when you burn your skin cells never fully repair themselves
if you go slow and use the proper skin care you will be just fine
everyone has spent a day at the beach and not applied spf properly and this is far worse then a tanning bes where the you.v rays are controled as is your exposure time
getting a base tan before spending the summer out in the sun is far healthier then going out eith no exposure and burning

Using the proper tanning lotion and after tan lotion is important as well btw they will put back nutrients that he sun/bulbs take out of your skin and they will prevent fine lines and wrinkles
ppl literally NEED vitamin d which tanning beds and the sun give you
ppl have been tanning and exposed to the sun for centuries and have been just fine
these days everything "causes cancer" I personally would rather tan in a bed ans not burn the first time I go out in the sun

I tan for 3 weeks right before summer so when I go out in the blistering sun I don't turn in to a lobster, I turn into a bronzed goddess ;;)))). I also live in cancer valley usa, so its more harmful to breath the air then to tan. :/

I think the question really is whether you would take the chance of cancer ( there will always be a risk) to look tanned, I totally respect all opinions but there is more than a fifty percent chance of cancer, I personally think it's a risk too high :/

I don't agree with tanning beds, it's not natural like the sun. Also not everyone can just use a tanning bed, even though places will let anyone tan. It depends on your skin type. I myself cannot use tanning beds because my skin is extremely pale and I have a very hard time getting a natural tan without burning. You just need to be smart, of course the natural sun isn't the greatest but if you're applying sunscreen and not laying out there everyday baking yourself then you will be fine. Just make sure you have the right skin type before tanning. It does increase the risk of cancer by 75% but most of these people don't have the proper skin to be tanned. Personally I would just use a self tanner for a couple days.

When you go into a tanning salon they do a skin type analysis
if you for example were very sensatice skin we would put you in our 20 min bed for 4 minutes

Don't go for it! It causes such a high risk of cancer when you can get from a self tan bottle or spray tan! vitamins come from your foods sources top, not just from the sun!

Sadie is right. It's far more harmful to skin to burn than to tan gradually. Skin actually needs sunlight to make vitamin D3 which is that metabolised to make an essential hormone. 5 minutes of intense sun exposure a day without any sun cream is actually good for you. Seriously, google this stuff and scientists are now saying people are going too far to protect themselves from the sun because everyone has been scared to death by skin cancer horror stories. Sunbeds are actually prescribed by doctors for those with eczema. Sun/sunbeds are just like everything else in life - fine in moderation.

No!! You're better off getting a natural tan. Tanning beds cause a high risk of cancer and spray tans make people look orange (in my opinion) ☀
