Is your appt a consult? or are you planning to get tg e tattoo at that time? I would say give it some thought and pick something meaningful or beautiful to you. not all tattoos have to be this insightful thing but make sure its what you want and are not rushed decisions. tattoo removal is incredibly painful, and since you are getting it on your wrist which is highly visible to the public... be sure it is something you can be proud of. go to a reputable sterile place and not someones home.

I am inked and I completely agree with Amanda. I'd go a little further and suggest you cancel your appointment until you find a symbol or image that is important and meaningful to you.
Tattoos can be removed, but it is horribly paunful and will leave unsightly scars. Don't go into this blind and pick something under pressure from a flash book.
I have 3 tattoos. One is a Celtic knot celebrating my Scottish and Irish heritage, an aleph (the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet) in honor of my faith, and the last is a lotus, which symbolizes the struggles I have been through that I have survived.
You'll know when you find the right piece. Wait for that moment, don't just rush to gwt something you are likely to regret.

One more thing - ask about their sterilization procedures and make sure they show you an autoclave. The instruments should be sealed and opened in front of you. If you don't know a good artist keep a lookout for people with great ink and ask them who did it. That's how you find a great artist.

You cannot ask someone what kind of tattoo you should get and everyone's answer is going to be the same here,that it is your body ans choice and it has to be something you want, not something that has been influenced by others for you to get or you will deeply regret it. I have a full sleeve dedicated to my son, my husband's name, the top of my foot which I designed myself, and raven wings. all were things I chose myself with no reguard to others opinions. do what makes you happy and get what you like. if it rly not sure, wait a while:-) things like that shouldnt be rushed.

I have to agree with everyone else! All 14 of my tattoos have meaning and are very special to me-I think that's the key to no regrets! I would stop and really think over what you want and what it means to you before putting anything permanent on your body! Good luck :)

Here is what I am going to do with my kids...
Pick a tattoo.. pick a spot and colors.. have this all on a piece of paper... put it on your fridge or somewhere your forces to look a lot, for 1 year. If for any reason you change any detail about this tattoo including location, color, size ect, you need to draw out a new paper and wait another year. This is what my Mom did for me. If I had had my first design tattooed I would of had a pink care bear on my ankle for the rest of my life. I ended up waiting till I was in my late 20's till I got my first tattoo which is my sons name:) Anywho best thing my Moms ever done for me!

Oops! Wanted to say that a lot of people may have a current obsession with something and get a tattoo on impulse. They believe that they'll always love it - and then two months later they have a new obsession and regret the tattoo.

I feel like most people get tattoos just to look cool. Because it's a fad now. Coming from someonewho. worked in the Iindustry for many years, that annoys me to no end. I don't understand why someone would make an appointment and have no idea what they're getting. Asking strangers what to get tattooed on you, FOR LIFE, is like asking strangers what to get tattooed on you for life! Get it? I don't believe every tattoo has to have meaning but every tattoo should at least be your idea. Or, a collaborative piece between you and the artist. Honestly, I don't think you're ready for a tattoo at all. I think you're just getting it to fit in. Try being yourself. Then, maybe you'll learn that you didn't want one to begin with. Something to think about.

Thank you Heather Y. you took the words right out of mouth. It took me 6 months to figure out my first tat and my next tat...I've been drafting a design for over two years. I just want something I can be completely happy with as it will sit on my skin forever. Lauraind M. you need to think long and hard about what it is you want and not the opinion of others.

Its a bit weird that you want a tattoo when you don't know what of. no offence intended at all but a tattoo should be whay YOU want not other people's ideas. something significant and meaningful to you. it will be on you forever so you should figure it out yourself :)
