I always did a french braid with a loose pony tail. it held up for a while lol or braid the top edges going un like a swoop motion and end in a pony.

I like fishtail or french braid. Don't do a messy braid or a messy bun, with all the sports and running, believe me, you're going to want that loose hair out of the way. Make the braid tight and durable for your hardcore sporting girl! :)
