Gel nails are not fake. They are pretty much a no chip sorta thing. My mom gets gel nails. Acrylic nails are fake nails. Those you have to get removed.

Both are fake. gel nails are supposedly better for your real nails while acrylic are more damaging. Gel nails don't chip as easily as acrylic nails but both usually take some time and patience to take off.
