Gel nails and nail bitting?

So, I'm a nail bitter, and I've tried every trick in the book to quit. I've never gotten gel nails before, and my question is anyone who has them: Is it possible to chew through them?

Yh you can chew through them. I have the same problem but it's getting better as I make sure my nails are always painted do I don't bite them.

:/ yeah just having pretty nails dosnt stop me. I was hoping it would actually be like impossible for me to, but I still might give it a try :)

I had the same problem and I tried EVERYTHING people told me... There are some nail polishers that are specially made to help you (didn't work for me but it did for some people I know) What I did was kind of a day-at-a-time thing. I would say JUST FOR TODAY everyday :)

The other thing I was worried about is how Lon I've been chewing on them. It's been like 17 years now. I don't know if I've done any permanent damage to them, I know I herd that somewhere, would you know about that at all?

Have you tried chewing gum or other ways to occupy your mouth from your nails.

I chewed my nails from when I first got teeth until I was 27 (I'm 29 now) I vowed to stop every year and tried everything like you girls I just randomly stopped one day and now the idea of biting them doesn't even enter my mind I just kept on watching them grow and grow. Tip to grow them fast when you get the urge to bite get the clippers and cut them instead, they will be thin and break but don't despair just clip off the thin ones and go for regular manicures use olive or coconut oil for cuticle oil and gently push them back. Its a long journey but so worth it. Good luck girlies :)

I have the same problem… My nails grew out so much when I had gel and then as soon as it was taken off they were so long and weak that they all broke so low and I just starting biting again. It was awful. Please don't do it again :(

I think I might try just going for manicures all the time. If having pretty nails dosnt stop me mabey spending a million dollars on my nails all the time will :p

I ended up bitting them off. Because your nails are short it's already not a guarantee that they will stay I long. So the application is weak. I payed $40 for them and one fell off ad I glued it back on, and afte about a week and a half after Amy nails kept falling off and me gluing them back on I ended up biting them all off. Some people can stop biting their nails but I sure can't :/
