In a shoe box because makeup can be messy and if the shoe box gets messy you can use a new one.

If you want something fancy I would suggest some sort of jewelry box, but if it doesn't need to be that fancy then use something like one of those boxes that are made for offices and have individual spots/places for small to large things. you can put your brushes in a pencil cup as well.

I put my makeup in its carrying bag I bought for it. If you have a lot, maybe a tackle box that you can rearrange the slots in? :)
