Hey Sadie! Umm I'm on birth control so sometimes I get my period very lightly, but you could be right that maybe it is just because of that time as well!

Your skin renews itself every 28 weeks, your body makes these new skin cells from what you eat. Diet is extremely important! Eat healthy, almonds, fruits, cut all processed sugar out. In addition have you heard of the candida diet? If you're looking for a quick cure to your cystic acne I'd try that for a month. Google the candida diet it's amazing, everyone I know with extremely awful acne benefited it from it and lost major weight.
"Candida albicans is a yeast that we all naturally have in our digestive systems. Factors like antibiotic usage, diets high in sugar, and even stress can throw off the balance of bacteria in our systems and cause an overgrowth of candida. This overgrowth can lead to symptoms such as acne."

I have sensitive skin and cliniques products are the absolute best for sensitive skin and they have so many lines for different skin types so you can mix and match cleaners, exfoliators, toner, moisturizing gels or lotions, so they do exactly what you need. I would really recommend going to a cliniques counter and talking to a rep and getting your skin matched up with some good products.

You also have to take into consideration the rest of your routine. do you use a cleanser toner in your routine? do you use a mask for oily/acne primed skin once a week, a good exfoliant with hydoxil acid and no scrub beads once a week as well. and when you say sensitive do you mean you are prone to rashes in your face or breakouts? because being sensitive is different then breaking out. using a regular facial moisturizer and using a seperate SPF may help.

Brittany I have changed my diet a lot, I eat everything whole grain and I can't even remember the last time I had sugar lol I might just try the candida diet as well!

Sadie I used apple cidar vinegar as my toner, the scrub I have been using I thin it aggravates my face so I am going to try this olive oil and brown sugar scrub I heard about and I also get occasional break outs and rashes as well to certain stuff.

Nicole I also suggest you try a body cleanse, thisilyn cleanse is an amazing cleansing system. Under 20 dollars too. It will definitely reflect your skin. Also make sure you limit the amount of alcohol you drink.

Only exfoliate 2-3 times max a week. I used to exfoliate every day, but switched to a mild cleansed, I suggest an aveeno line if you can afford the clinique, and exfoliate 2 or 3 nights or mornings a week. I've heard nights are a better time, but I just do it whenever. Exfoliating every day can really damage skin. I also highly suggest a rose water toner for you. It has amazing antiseptic qualities, yet is very gentle and does wonders for your pores, plus it smells great :)
