I have tried a bunch of kinds like a curling wand, spiral iron, and some more complicated kinds. My hair will curl, but it doesn't stay for long. I don't want to use a bunch of hairspray because then my hair will get sticky and dark. HELP!! How do I get the curls to stay in??

Try styling your hair when its a bit greasy, to help with hold and also try and tease your hair a bit before you curl it, I had the same issue and I felt these really helped! :)

My hair is poker straight. When I want curls, I have to gel each piece before curling it. Takes much longer but then my ringlets last.

I have baby fine hair and it does not hold curl for long UNTIL I tried spraying a light coat of hair spray on hair PRIOR to curling. This really seems to work. I know you not want to use hairspray but this worked for me. Also Living Proof makes a product called "Prime" and it primes your hair prior to styling.

I had the same problem as you, so after the shower (after I brushed my hair ) I curl it with my hands and in the next morning it looks great and stay for long

Well, my hair sometimes won't hold the curl either, so I spray a bit of hairspray all over my hair BEFORE I start curling. Make sure its comepletely dry before you start though, or else it won't work. After it's dry, begin to curl. After you've finished curling, flip your head upside down and spray all the underneath. Then you can spray the sides and top and everything. hope this helped. :)

Ok sooo I will wash my hair the day before I curl it, spray hairspray before and after curling, and use a light hairspray!

And I will probably use mousse when I get out of the shower.

Try curling your hair then holding the curl and pinning it onto your head then and some hair spray, let it sit and cool then take it down. I hope this helps.

The best thing I've ever used is V05 and its a blue spray bottle and its for weatherproof hair and its amazing if you spray it after curls or even before curling it holds them and doesn't go crispy but it really works for me I can't think of the name sorry but its a dark blue bottle and says its for weatherproof hair I really recommend it.

It's also if you have layers if not try having some put then your hair won't be as heavy and drag the curls down :)
