At work w learn that Smashbox was one of the first to make face primers and are the top selling brand with their photo finish primers. I work at Sephora so I've played and experimented with a lot of primers. Some of my favorites are Hourglass primer and also their No 28 serum primer and I love Algenist's new primer as well (you get skincare benefits a well, what's not to like about that?!)
