Sephora in my opinion but it can be a little pricey sometimes. But I prefer Sephora above all else.

They are a little different Ulta has some high weeks stuff, but they also have drugstore brands from all over. Sephora has all high end stuff and they give more samples. I think both are great it just depends on a what you are looking for. To me Ulta is drugstore mixed with high end and salon. Sephora is all high end, but they have ALOT of sephora brand products that you can choose from as well so they try to cater to a smaller budget while offering the highest quality products. That being said, there are some amazing products they don't carry some of them are carried here on beautylish.

Ulta does not carry Nars, Bite, Make Up Forever, YSL, OCC, Fresh and several more. If you are just shipping for your personal use and are satisfied with what you find at Ulta then that is the store for you. I shop at both and I love both. I only have one problem and this may only pertain to my local Ulta, but I have been to a few locations in Florida and there us almost no one to be found if you bed help sometimes. Almost every single time I have been in Sephora there gave been associates ready to help and some of them remember me and greet me very nicely. Some women want to shop and not be bothered, I love the personal attention at Sephora without the pushy atmosphere of a makeup counter. All in all I love both its all in deciding which is best for your shopping needs. I hope this helps.

Depends. Some brands are Sephora exclusive...Kat Von D for example. Sephora sells amazing products and high end lines, but ULTA has a plethora of drug store favorites..always had coupons and specials going on..and has a sizable perfume section hitting every price point in addition to rollers..flat irons...train cases and a boatload of bath products and polishes. I love them both!

Pros of sephora:
- the customer service is great
- wide variety of products
Cons of sephora:
- the people who do the makeup isn't always the best
- it's way too pricey
Pros of ulta:
- larger variety than sephora
- mixture of high end, and drugstore cosmetics
Cons of ulta:
- horrible customer service
- the people who work there can be snooty
To me, I'd have to say sephora though I can't afford anything there... yet lol just because for me, ulta has horrible customer service. If any of you want to hear about the story, feel free to ask :)

Tara, glad you asked. I like their products, but goodness. So I was searching for this essence gel liner (which had amazing reviews) and I decided to purchase it online because I didn't have a ulta near me. Anyway, I finally got the liner from ulta (the waiting time wasn't too bad) but the liner was open the entire time, so it was extremely dry. I was pretty upset so I called ulta and they were pretty nice. They said I could return it and receive a new one OR carry it into a store and find it there. Well I decided not to take any risks, and buy it at the store. So I go to the store, and I saw one but it was opened (since essence doesn't really wrap their products) so I told the customer service that there was none and she felt so bad and went to the back and said they didn't receive shipment until the next day. So, I waited and called them the next day to see if they had it. The girl said she did have it and I asked if she could put it on hold for me. She did, so I told her I'd be there the next day. So before we left, I called them and asked if they had it on hold for me and they did. So I go in there, and asked the lady at the cash register if she had it. She said they did and it was the SAME product that was originally shipped to me! I was pissed. Luckily, I told the girl at the cash register and she was extremely understanding. I got two liners because I honestly didn't want to go back there again.

I like both. I don't think there is a price difference between their high end lines (I think pricing is based on manufacturer pricing). I go to ulta for certain things (drugstore cosmetics and NYX) and sephora for basically everything else. I think it's just personal pref.

The Ulta close to me has great salespeople, and sells most of the brands I use (Urban Decay, Tarte, Benefit). I like Sephora's brand stuff better, but I find their salespeople a lot more pushy. I think it just depends on where you live and the staff at each store.
