You can wear it alone or under a foundation.

It can be if you don't need much coverage its basically primer, moisturizer, tint/foundation with spf all in one product but they usually only provide sheer to medium coverage but also provide other skin benefits like anti aging anti oxidents some also even skin tone and do a bunch of other stuff too just do some research to see which ones might suit your needs.
