I have broken out on one of my cheeks pretty badly. I do my best to cover it with foundation and concealer like I do with the rest of my acne. The problem is that it's on a part of the cheek where I apply blush. The blush makes the breakout look terrible!! What is your advice??
I by no means have high end products. The foundation, concealer, and blush I use are all drugstore. Even when I do try to cover up any acne, it is never 100% unnoticeable which I don't expect it to be. Would my blemish look so bad with blush on top if I had better quality products??

Maybe you need to stop putting makeup and let your skin breath? Put spot treatments and wash every night and morning. Don't over wash though because your skin might freak out and try to make more oils and make the breakout worse :) there's also physicians formula brand that has acne preventing makeup :)

Use a color of blush different from the acne, like orange.

I already do all that stuff and I realize I should let my skin breath but it's kind of inevitable at this point. I've cleanse my skin twice a day as well as moisturize and spot treat. I exfoliate once a day and NEVER sleep in makeup. Life would be great without acne but I've learned to live with it for the most part. It will not prevent me from wearing makeup so that's why I posed the question above. Thank you for the advice anyways Amaris :)

Don't use blush or change the color of you blush (like Nat said ;)) If you chose not to put blush, don't worry :) bronzer will be enough :) I know ;)

Try bronzer with no shimmer that's what I use. But maybe change your foundation kat Von d lock it foundation covers ALL my acne.

I would just skip the blush step, it's better to put less product ontop of acne if you can. Hard Candy Glamoflauge is $6, drugstore, amazing coverage, dupe for Kat Von D. Try it out xx

I don't wear bronzer lol but maybe it would be a good substitute for blush?? and I have heard of Kate Von D's foundation but it's too expensive for me :/ that being the reason why I use drugstore products.

Toothpaste over night

My grandma told me the same thing Aly. But I read in a dermatologist book that it doesn't work. I put some toothpaste on my acne before but not overnight. Have you tried it before and did it work for you??

In my early 20's I developed acne right on my cheeks where I would apply my blush. I wore a mineral foundation which helped the rest of my skin clear up big time, and then I switched to a mineral blush as well and that really helped!

Aloe Vera is good. It will reduce the redness from your pimples and make them disappear with no marks at all. Try it!

Yes it did :)

I get breakouts from time to time, so I understand the issue you're having. However, there are a couple ways to fix this problem. First of all, even if you have blemishes, you still want to make the overall texture of your skin as smooth as possible. If your skin is flaky, exfoliate. If your skin is dry, use an oil-free moisturizer. If you have large pores, try to fill them in (Olay Filling & Sealing Treatment or Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer are great). Next, know that all drugstore products are not created equal! Some are just as good as the expensive products, whereas others truly are cheap. For example, some fantastic drugstore face products are Revlon ColorStay foundation, L'Oreal concealer crayons, NYC translucent powder, CoverGirl blush, and Physician's Formula bronzer. Also, I second the Hard Candy Glamoflauge recommendation!

What are you using to cleanser your skin? what moisturizer are you using? and what brands of make up? the best way to fight acne is prevention. if you have really sensitive skin try using cold cream to cleans your face, its a combination of a moisturizer and a cleanser and will work magic for you if you stay diligent and consistent. also try switching to an oil free line of cosmetics, I personally use neutrogenas oil free liquid foundation with spf (I think) 20 and I love it.
also don't change colors of your blush, but definitely switch to a matte version of it. another trick is using concealer and letting it 'cook' on your face to get better coverage. there are a few vide3os on youtube about it if you have questions on it, look for the ones of drag queens- they will give the best solutions for just about anything make up related.
