So one of my friends from fashion school had asked what I'd charge for makeup for her wedding. With 6 bridesmaids.
How much do you charge?
I would think $40/ face?
I've never done a wedding before and other things I've done were little pay or trade for pics.
I've done fashion shows and plays and photoshops but for a wedding it's such a long time where you don't want your makeup to melt.
What is the best option?
I have the Graftobian warm palette in my kit.
Any tips are greatly appreciated

Andrea...I would its so many factors that play a role in how you set your prices. like your products... I would definitely do a trial makeup session just to get a feel for the type of skin types and etc. additionally, I would stick with a neutral palette, blush palette, and foundation palette. oh, lip palette too. be sure to spend a set amont of time on your bridesmaid. doing six bridesmaids with a bride is a lot of work for a single person. also consider techniques that would help with time. sometimes just wearing eyeshadow, lips, eyebrows, and lashes is enough because not all women like to wear foundation. $40 for a full face is really decent. I say go for it and as you build, you will likely change your prices to reflect your awesome skills

Check out the rates around your area. Graftobian is good. You should add the Graftobian cool palette to your kit as well.

I think going for $50 a face/bridesmaid and $75-$100 for the bride sounds reasonable!

I ended up going with $100 for the bride & $50 for her bridesmaids.
What types of things should I add. I have the Coastal Scents 88 Color Palette.
Maybe invest in the Naked palette or something with more neutrals?
I have the Parian Spirit brush cleaner.
What's a good blush/contour palette?
Also, what's a good eyeliner, gel preferably that will LAST.
When I did the fashion show I did a few months back, it was 5 models & I did that in an hour, so I'm hoping my timing is fine but I want to spend more time on them so it'll most likely take up to 3 hrs.
Thanks you guys :]
Looking for some other products to add to the kit.
I was originally going to try and get an airbrush system and learn it well enough for a few weeks and then use that since I know it lasts but she just confirmed with me today.
I'm thinking of getting Smashbox primer, I have UD All Nighter Spray.

I was reading this post because I also need help with pricing. Some of you ladies charge 50 per face. Does that mean you provide the foundation for each face or do you make them bring their own?

@Marlene R: I charge $50 a face for bridesmaids & $150 for the bride (trial and lashes included) and I bring my own foundation unless the client insists on bringing their own, in which case I would lower it a little bit ($5-15, depending on what foundation I was planning to use on them). The lowering of the cost is just me lowering my kit fee for that particular job.

Ya I bought the Hradtobian foundation palette. I had no intention to buy separate foundation shades. It's too costly. With the palette you can mix and match and create the right shade. If you start running low you can buy that individual shade. They show up great in photos and you have a great range in one. I'd just go with one of those or invest in some good foundations and choose every other shade or less and mix or match. I'm hoping after this job ill buy an airbrush system and be able to customize even more. You should provide foundation though. I've gone to jobs where people have brought their own foundation or already put it on. I was like that's cool cause if it doesn't show up right on camera that's on them. Mind you these were unpaid jobs.
