Hi I am thinking of buying the Night Serum brilliance by RoC. I am 28 years old and I have some dark spots. And I am also worried about ageing. Have you ever used this product? what do you think of it?

I was using RoC anti wrinkle cream for resurfacing and toning purposes. It works, but slowly. I started using at home glycolic acid peels and it worked in about a week. Its kind of a harsh treatment, but works AMAZINGLY. My skin is basically perfectly toned, but the resurfacing is going to take some more time. I'm expecting flawless skin within a few months. But anyway, you should totally go the chemical peel route; you'll be satisfied.

RoC has excellent retinol products at a great price. My dermatologist highly recommended the brand to me and also told me there's not necessarily a need to purchase expensive, high end retinol product as the concentration will be essentially the same (similar to high end lightening products and drugstore, as they both have the same 2% hydroquinone). The results you get from retinol really depend on how you use it. Use it only at night to prevent sun damage, store it in a cool place away from bright light, and be diligent. Use it routinely and be religious about sunscreen during the day. Retinoids have solid science behind them and are one of the best ways to fight off premature aging. But you absolutely have to prevent sun damage, which will just undo all your hard work! I've been using RoC products since my mid-20's (now 32) and have nary a wrinkle in sight, as well as very little hyperpigmentation (what I do have is post-acne). Give it a go! It's never too early to start.
