I love having my nails done, but to get a good set done is about $50 where I live, I just can't afford to get them done anymore. I've only ever had gel nails, but I'm tempted to just buy supplies to do my own acrylics or possibly gel? Does anyone have advice on what I should do.. Should I buy my own you've lamp so I can do gel? I've also heard acrylics damage your nails a lot more than gel, is this true?

Gel doesn't damage my nails that badly, and I naturally have thin nails because I bite them.
I have a gel light at home, and it's AWEOSME!

You should definitely try gel, I got a gel manicure at a salon and it lasted 3 weeks with no chipping. You can get kits of ebay to do it at home. It is a bit of a pain to remove but its worth it.

Gel!! In the long run its cheaper and last longer, and doesn't damage your nail at all! But a pain to remove. My husband bought me the whole set at Sally's beauty and everything cost around 150 that equals out to 3 times to the salon and its your own stuff!
