I got this drawer set cheap and decorated it with mirrored butterflies but you can't really tell.

Show boxes! They're probably handing around your house somewhere, you can use the box and the lid for two compartments;p
Cute mugs are great for makeup brushes, I had a heart shaped one and that's what I use.
You can easily use pins on the wall for jewellery, these are all cheap ideas with things that are probably hanging around your house;p

Use cute cups/glasses from the kitchen or buy them cheap at charity stores, for pens, pencils etc.
wrap shoe boxes in decorative paper to keep odds and ends in
canvas organizers are great for storing scarfs, belts etc.little ceramic plates are great fold displaying jewelrry or holding perfumes and lotions etc.plastic baskets can hold things like electronics, hair tools etc
