No, I've done it accidentally before and it smelled weird and my hair came out a weird texture. I do use the smallest amount of it as a leave in conditioner and it makes my hair so soft and shiny.

No , that would make it feel weird, it also doesn't smell the best and it makes your hair greasy looking. I use coconut oil strictly for my face & hair, what it does for your face is get rid of white heads over night& you can wear it as a hair mask over night then wash it out in the morning. It could help your hair grow longer & thicker(:
