I've never really been into make up until recently so I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to clean my makeup brushes, how often to clean them, and what are the best products to clean them with? thanks!

I agree, at least once a week. Instead of buying brush cleansers you can use some olive oil and dawn with water; the soap cleans and polishes them, and the oil polishes them to stay soft. Also MAC has a brush cleaner that works well, or Elf's brush shampoo! Hope I helped :)

It is always important to clean your brushes. it helps to keep your colors true and helps prevent bacteria from collecting in them. you can always use dish soap and water or buy a brush cleaner.

Here's a really good article that will teach you a lot, and how to properly clean your brushes the right way, and what to use, etc

I agree it should be once a week for your face brushes, and I always wipe my completely down after using them with a brush cleansing spray (but you don't have to ) and then I still completely clean them once every week to two weeks. Depending on the brushes I don't really need to clean them that often, and honestly I have so many eyeshadow brushes that I will do those like once a month because I don't need to clean them more than I already do that often. Just be careful about what kind of hair your brush has because it can matter what you clean them with you can ruin them with certain things, I've done it myself. But e.l.f's brush antibacterial cleasner spray works good, so does sephora's and it's not that expensive. most company sell brush cleasner now, and you honesstly don't need to spend a lot on brush cleasner. Also the link I attached above they use Parian Spirit's brush cleanser, and it comes in a big kit for around $20 and it last a long time, and is really good quality, your brushes will dry really quickly, and smell super good.  :)

I wash my brushes once a week with shampoo and conditioner. And spray them with the brush cleaning spray after every use. Whatever you choose to clean with always remember to lay them flat after doing so otherwise they can go a funny shape when drying. hope it helped :) xoxo.

I treat my brushes like my hair. I shampoo, condition, use thermal protect heat serum, dry them with a hair drier and I put on the tiniest bit of Elvive revitalising oil. I'm only so OCD because my brushes cost €100. you definitely don't need to go so crazy. Just wash them until the water runs clear when you squeeze them out.

Yes definitely! I had horrid acne and nothing seemed to work until I started to clean my brushes. E.L.F has a brush shampoo around $3 or just soap and water will work.

I clean eyeshadow brushes once a week soap water rinse and alcohol rinse. Alcohol helps them dry faster. My foundation brush I clean after every use in the same way. It helps keeping bacteria out of my foundation and reduces breakouts for me.

Definitely once a week, especially if you're a daily user. Try and get brush cleaner and conditioner made for makeup brushes, if not use baby shampoo or something gentle that is made for hair! Whatever you do, don't use hand soap.

I clean mine once a week using baby shampoo and then I hang them upside down on a sock airer to leave them dry without running the risk of water getting into the handles

Yes!! Clean them once a week if you can... At least once every two weeks.
I always fill the sink with cold water (hot water is apparently bad for the bristles) and personally put makeup remover on the brush and massage it in. Then I put them in the water to soak for like 5 mins & then test to see if the makeup is off by wiping it on a towel and seeing if any makeup comes off. Repeat the process if so. If not, drain the sink & let the brushes air dry over night. (:
