NARS beats MAC any day! Go with NARS. Plus, their new creamy concealers are simply phenomenal!!

And if we're really about the get preachy about the BEST in IMHO it would be Make Up For Ever. Almost everything of theirs that I've tried I've either liked or loved and I've worked for Sephora since 2008 so I have definitely tried an absolutely incredible amount of product. @Jordan I'm shocked to find that it's the shades that you don't like about the powder foundation. I have found the shades so reliable that I make it a top go-to with almost anyone. My caveat with a lot of the other powder foundations I encounter is far too many pinky shades and not enough yellows.

For example I love the new MUFE powder foundations but the pink toned shades are rarely a match for anyone but the fairest or darkest clients. The yellow toned ones are flying off the shelves and we can't keep them in stock in our location while the pinky tones sit there collecting dust.

In answering the original post, I think both MAC and Nars have their strengths and a lot of it is hugely based on personal preference. Frankly I think the texture and pigmentation of nars lipsticks and complexion products are better but for blush and eyeshadow I prefer MAC (and I work for Sephora so this amounts to sacrilege but that's my honest opinion). And again these two lines are not the only ones available. MUFE, Smashbox, Urban Decay, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, YSL, Lorac, Armani, Stila, Givenchy, Shu Uemura, Chanel etc.make fantastic products. It's wise to cherry pick individual products and shades to build an ideal collection based on your needs.

By the way, one lesser known but absolutely amazing line which currently focuses primarily on complexion products and lips is Hourglass. I can not even begin to rave about some of the products.

I'm grateful to read all post about these two brands. I've been using MAC for years but somehow tis year I'm making a lot of investment on experimenting and changing products and brands.I've stopped buying mac ever since tis year as I fluences by media really got my attention that MAC is not the only reliable cosmetics.MAC is totally a good brand. But we have options :) Unfortunately I do want to say something about NARS but tis brand will only be in Malaysia end of tis year. Looking forward to try them!

MAC is a pro makeup product, NARS is more for the consumer. MAC is good for productions, NARS for everyday. Should you choose to wear MAC everyday, you need a dedicated facial routine. Try Mac Mineralize Skinfinish if you're trying to compare to NARS foundations. The "better" product is the one that performs flawlessly under pressure FOR YOU ;)
