I'm a trained piercer. Everyone's pain tolerance is different so you can't really base the pain off of others' experiences. The piercing should be quick, done with a sterile 14 or 16g (very small) needle. The most discomfort you will have is after it is pierced (swelling, sleeping on it). This discomfort will go away after a few days. You can take ibuprofen for swelling for a few days after. Your piercer will tell you how they recommend you take care of it.

Good luck!

I have the piercing, it hurt for a few weeks for being swollen & my hair being in the way. I went in the sun & tanned (bad idea) because from the sweat & sun light my piercing became inflamed for 2 weeks straight. I kept doing sea salt soaks & now it's all healed. It was definitely worth it! Here's a picture from the other day.
