I started letting my nails grow since December. (I've always had a bad problem biting them.) I have been wearing polish on them non stop bc I felt they would break or split if I didn't. I wasn't using a base coat this whole time. Now half of every nail is yellowed. Last night I tried the hydrogen peroxide/baking soda paste to whiten them. No results. Does anyone have any tips on getting them back to white? Or a good natural looking nail polish I could wear? (With a base coat of course). I feel too self conscious to let them go polish free with them looking like this...

You could try using a very fine grit nail buffer. And from now on always use a base coat!

I've been using a buffer as well. I think I will try buffing them then applying the peroxide/baking soda paste again right after I buff them.

Those night help. It's a 2 in 1 White Nail Pencil if you want results now with treatment.

I have that but I don't like it bc it gets the white stuff all over the tips of my fingers and wears off in a few hours. I'm about the just paint them again but I'm getting sick of polish, never thought I would say that, lol.

Gosh has a polish called Silk. Sheer with a bit of pink. I use it when I want my nails to look natural, haha! I find it makes them look healthy with a bit of shine - and actually makes the tip look whiter!

My favorite sheer/white polish is Marshmellow by Essie. Like you, I'm nearly terrified to wear bare nails! In fear of breakage, mostly. But this polish is pretty, it's not too sheer but gives a nice manicured look.

Au natural by essie. It's the perfect naked nail shade and it makes my nails look so healthy and neat.

Yes lemon juice will bleach them a little, works well. Try going without polish, they're yellow because polish stops the nails from breathing.
