All of the bh cosmetics paettes are good. they have ones for foundation, blush/bronzer/contouring, and eyeshadows there really affordable (around $10-20) and the color pay off is very good so they're not cheap quality like some palettes that price. Also I personally really love the new NAKEDS palette from VIctoria Secret (and I'm sure you're like yeah right they don't have good makeup- but honestly it's better than I thought it would be) and it's $28 for 12 neutral eye colors in both matte and shimmer dark and light from silver/white to black. It's a complete dupe for the naked ones from urban decay- but just as good of quality, and the colors are different (esp the fact that it's half price is nice too!) :)

I feel like when you're a beginner, you can start with the BH palettes. They're not expensive and you get so many colours in one big compact. Plus they're not bad quality. It makes life easier. As you grow, you get to purchase more end products, just because that's what the client wants. Also, you can charge more by the choice of products you're using. With me I have a lot of MAC just because a lot of people request that. I also have lots of Urban Decay because they're just so easy to work with. With Urban Decay and other brands like TooFaced, Benefit, Tarte, I'm always purchasing the eyeshadow palettes just because its easier to carry then singles. Makeup Forever is so awesome as well, but again you'll have to make the palette since they rarely make eyeshadow palettes. I hope that helps!
