I have dry skin and I've noticed that applying eyeshadow oftentimes accentuates any flakiness on my lids, and sometimes my lids are so dry that the eyeshadow just won't stay on very well. I moisturize them with coconut oil every night but they're dry again by the next morning. I don't use primer because I've never had an issue with creasing, and I've always been under the impression that primer is for those who have oily lids, but is there a type of primer or base for dry lids?

Using primer will really help as it gives they shadow something to adhere to and won't be absorbed into your eyelids. you can also use concealer.

Thanks for the tips. I'll have to try concealer! Although my eyeshadow has never creased, I have tried a few primers in the past just for the heck of it, but every one was too dry and cakey. Are there any that are specifically made to be moisturizing, rather than for oil control?

I also have dry eyelids, and I've found that concealer tends to make it worse. Just my personal experience. I can testify to the awesomeness of the LORAC primer: it's my favorite. My second favorite is Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Both of these primers are not drying on me. I found that UDPP dried my eyelids out terribly and I couldn't blend my shadows out over it.

I have dry skin (esp. around my eyes) and the Lorac primer is super great. I go between that and a MAC paint pot. I'd definitely recommend it.
