No, the American ones are more like a tinted moisturizer, but the true Korean bb creams are really more of a primer-moisturizer-foundation-sunscreen in one. I highly recommend checking out brands like Dr. Jart or Skin79. I've been using Skin79 Hot Pink Super Plus for 18 months and I've seen a huge improvement in my skin.

Its abeauty balm, a tinted moisurizer basically. it offers very sheer coverage and moisturizes and primes your skin and its supposed to "improve your skin.

Bb cream is in between foundation and moisturizer. It covers blemishes but not as much as foundation. Its a sheer cover and has good properties for your skin. I myself prefer bb cream bc it feels very lightweight on your skin and looks natural

I live for my Skin79 Gold. It's a Korean BB so it does the whole nine yards. I use it everyday instead of a foundation. I'm a bartender/waitress with acne prone skin so I wear it alone during the day, but at night, I touch up blemishes with a little concealer and my pur minerals powder.

Usually though, I wear BB alone. It's even a great primer for my eye shadow.
