You can also use socks ( long ones ) and just roll sections of your hair

Give these a try. If you have thick hair like me then you need a lot but they do form really nicely shaped curls if you're willing to spend some money

Try putting a headband on then wrapping your hair around it...you tube headband curls(:

Trying wrapping about an inch of hair around your finger all the way up to the scalp then pin with bobby pin these are pin curls there are video tutorials on YouTube that will help
