Use a mattifying product to absorb excess oil, then hydrate skin with an oil-free moisturizer. Then apply a primer - Smashbox photo finish is great. Use matte finish foundation and concealer. Set with translucent powder (love MUFE HD) - buff into the skin in circles or press in with powder puff. Then, set with finishing spray (Urban Decay De-Slick is wonderful, and you can use it before primer as well for double protection).

I usually wait about ten minutes in between applying my moisturizer or primer and my makeup. This way all of the moisturizer has time to absorb into the skin...you should look for a foundation that is made for oily skin such as the Revlon Colorstay for oily or the new Garnier BB Cream for oily skin...You also should invest in oil blotting sheets that you can carry around with you on the go...Palladio makes some rice paper blotting sheets that are my favorite but other brands have them too like Biore and Elf...you can carry these around in your purse so when you feel oily they are on hand...you should also carry a setting powder around with you like the Neutrogena Shine Control Powder or the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.

I've found my ulta minerals powder works really well at keeping my skin shine free all day! What I do is I splash my face with cold water in the morning and pat dry it (NO RUBBING, it will damage your skin) then I moisturize with Olay sensitive skin and let that sink in. I haven't found a primer that doesn't break me out yet so I let my moisturizer act as a primer and I go through and conceal my dark circles and blemishes and then put the powder on top to set it all and it stays all day :)

That using de slick before after I added my primer helped a lot. I don't know what the hype is for smashbox primer. I get way too oily when I use it so I use sephoras anti shine primer which is alcohol based. I hope that can hel.
