If it were me, I wouldn't go too spot on with my hair and makeup, it can sometimes look costumey if you do the dress, hair, and makeup all '40s. I would maybe do finger waves and keep the makeup sleek and more modern, so as to not overwhelm the vibe of the dress.

Oh wow that's stunning! Mine's getting made so have no pics yet but it's pale blue. Sort of early Sofia Loren. Tulle and satin. Going for Vivien Westwood slingbacks. Have no idea about hair, have been looking at hats, you look stunning!
