So I'm originally from Florida and used to be tan. I moved to Montana and became very pale and haven't been able to tan since. I've heard before that since the sun was so much stronger there I have more melanin (?) in my skin so I can't really tan here in the weak sun. is this true?

Use tanning oil and just sit out or use a self tanner.

Don't sit out OR use tanning oil. A deep tan is just damaged skin. My friend used to sit out to get tan and she died when she was 19 of skin cancer. Plus, tanning does irreversible damage to your skin. Embrace pale skin.

I agree with Stephanie G. I've had skin cancer twice from sun exposure and I have to go through a whole battery of tests every month to make sure I am cancer-free. Find a good self-tanner or do a spray tan, don't bake in the sun.

Tan today wrinkled and hideous tomorrow. All the Botox and face lifts in the world won't help sun damaged skin.
