It looks similar to the reaction I had when I was hospitalized.

Ouch. Nothing for an overnight treatment but in the future take L-lysine vitamins. It will prevent it from happening.

Dab a cotton ball in some salt water and put it on it, or peroxide. Dries it out & makes it heal faster!

I have a very strict and healthy diet.so it's probably not that. Could it.be from fighting a virus or taking a medication? Should I see a doctor about it? How can I cover this monstrosity?

Cold sores happen when the body is under stress. So it could be from fighting a virus or meds.

ABREVA!! It's a bit pricey but it will clear that sucker up in only a few days!

I agree about Abreva. It will also reduce the horrible itching as it heals. Cold sores are caused by Herpes simplex virus, so you will always have it (no cure). Often people get outbreaks in response to stress, but sometimes it is just random. If you get them frequently or they are large like that one, your doctor can give you medication (Valtrex or its generic Valcyclovir) to keep them at bay.
As for covering them, Abreva has some new patch thing that supposedly covers them so you can use makeup. I haven't tried them yet, but might be worth looking into. Good luck on your interview!
