Hey guys,

For some reason, my makeup seems to always be coming off. I wear moisturizer, then primer, and foundation/concealer. I use a Beauty Blender to apply and pressed powder to set.

Any idea why this might still be happening?

Maybe the primer doesn't actually make it last all day, there's not really a lot thay actually do. but present from philosophy actually makes your make up stay all day.

Do you have super oily skin? Also using a setting spray may help "lock" in all your makeup so it doesn't melt off

You could be applying too much moisturiser.. You nee to make sure it's completely absorbed :) if not then you could use a setting spray..

I'm using Hourglass Mineral Veil primer with Tarte's Amazonian Clay foundation. As for moisturizer, I think I'm waiting long enough... but maybe I should try waiting longer?

I do have really oily skin...Any suggestions on a setting spray?

What kind of primer are you using? Do you use an anti-shine? If not that should work for you and you put dabs of moisturizer on and primer and concealer everything could be fighting with your skin..makeup should last on your skin if they all have around the same ingredients.

For your skin type that is.even your foundation should be for your skin type.sometimes you have to just try out what works best for you and sometimes you don't need all that stuff when it comes to makeup just certain things.

Make sure you look for oil free on the products and let your layers set

Try Benefit's the porefessional. It's a great one for oily combo skin. And also Ben nye luxury powder. It's amazing. I have very oily skin even with a primer and setting spray but still end up blotting 3x a day. But with Ben nye's luxury powder I never have to blot. It keeps me matte all day long! Good luck..

Yeah, I think letting my makeup set is a big part of it -- I'm always rushing to get out the door, lol.

And yes, I try to always get Oil-Free stuff. Will continue to.

@Katrina -- thanks for the suggestion on Ben Nye! Looking them up now :)

I find if I pack on the foundation it wears off pretty fast especially if the weather is hot. I've been putting a light layer or foundation on and focusing more on powder and its been lasting a lot longer.

Your primer and your foundation need to match. When you look at the ingredients, what's the main one in the first five listed? You‘re looking for water, oil, or silicone based. So say you wear a foundation that‘s oil based. Your primer is water based.

Water and oil don‘t mix. You need to get products (it doesn‘t have to be from the same brand) that comoliment each others ingredients. Water based foundation and water based primer with stay put longer then mixing it with another ingredient. Check your ingredients now and post to see if I‘m correct? Because unless your face is like an oil slick like mine used to be, that‘s the only other reason why I think everything‘s not staying. If that‘s the case you need to re- up your moisturizing routine and incorperate macademia nut oil and a better moisturizer to achieve a healthy, balanced, oil free face. (:

Also note. I don‘t use any of those fancy setting sprays or fancy foundations and primers. My moisturizer/ cleanser is from the spectro jel line (Walmart $9), the macademia nut oil comes in $2 large vials,my primer is from Hard Candy (Again Walmart $5) and my foundation/concealer is Maybelline Fit Me (Walmart $7). You can achieve a perfect face without spending a lot of money. My makeup doesn‘t budge and I work 8- 10 hour days and meet people after work often times. (:

@Natalie - thanks for the explanation. Very helpful. I'll be checking my products when I get home.
