I just wrote a post about how to clean your brushes last week! Lol! You should actually deep clean your brushes weekly to remove any dirt, oil, dead skin and bacteria. I used to use Sephora Daily Brush Cleaner for daily use and the Brush Shampoo weekly but I just switched to using baby shampoo. I was leery of doing this but it works really well. Baby shampoo won't disinfect so I decided to buy Parian Spirit to use after the baby shampoo but I haven't tried it yet.

Baby shampoo works great. I also use it to remove makeup from my face at night.

I wash mine after each use I use warm soap and water, I have a few brushes I love and use for more then one color or to apply shadow and liner so it's kind of a must! If they get dry mix with a little olive oil when washing as someone mentioned. You don't want to contaminate your makeup or brushes so cleaning them is important :) it's hard to clean the sponge brushes so if I use those I buy disposable ones or use Q tips! Hope this is helpful

Don't just use baby oil though cause you don't want your brushes to be oily so use dishsoap too.
