If you put vaseline around your nail before painting but careful not to get any on your nail they won't come out messy on the edges. :)

I don't even know what vaseline is, but mine gets really messy beacuse my nails are super short (I'm a biter) and I can't paint them without getting polish all over my fingers. Tho after I'm done with them I take a cotton stick (those for cleaning your ears) and dip it into nail polish remover and just rub the polish off my fingrs.

Mine used to get crazy messy but as I kept doing them more and more, also... slow down! I go very slow and precise now and even my weak hand does much better.

Mine gets pretty messy sometimes, but my little secret is to wait for wait for your manicure to be COMPLETELY dry, like next day dry, and use s moisturizing soap and nail brush to scrub the mistakes off. I like to clean it up this way because acetone on a qtip can ruin your manicure and picking off the mistakes usually ruins my skins
