I want to try gel eyeliner, but I'm not sure which to buy and exactly how to apply it.

Thee only one I have ever had is the maybelline gel liner. So I can't compare it with anything else but I like it a lot. Its very dark, thick and has a long staying power. Not that expencive either. It comes with a brush like the MUA liner.

You apply it with the little brush it comes with, its really not that difficult. You'll figure it out easily once you've bought it. If you have a hard time working with liquid liners this is a good solution. With liquid its easier to make a mistake, with gel liners your hand will feels steadier because of the brush and thickness of the product.
