Never really thought aabout that before.. personally I wouldn't wear them coz they'd annoy me n rub against my toes, I don't even wear flipflops lol, but on other people if its a nice ring they might look okay.. what I hate is false nails for your toes, never actually seen anyone wear them but seen them in shops n the thought disgusts me lol.

My sister in-law has had a toe ring for years, and recently bought me one. I think comfort depends on what you buy. I've had mine for awhile and don't even feel/notice at all. I personally love it.
