It depends on your body type. if you easily feel the bone when you press there then it will hurt more than if you have a little cushion.

That's what they told me when I got mine on my ankle, which was pretty bad But it was bearable

Super cute, but yes, expect a level of pain. nothing horrendous, but it is a needle. each persons pain threshold is different though. I have a few on my back, and other places. good luck!

Hmm.. I agree with Melissa in that you don't feel much in places with a bit more flesh. Then again, since this will be your first tattoo, your mind will play tricks on you. Bring loads of water and your happy food. Chocolate perhaps? :)

Bring candy or something to keep up your bloodsugar, have a full meal right before (half hour tops gap) and it won't be as bad. Tattoos hurt, but less so when you prepare yourself :)

Honestly, any tattoo hurts. My first tatto was on my back on the side right under my jeans- in a really fatty place, and it hurt like a mother and I almost passed out- even though it only lasted 10 minutes I didn't eat that day, and the pain is intense. Now on the other hand, I have a huge one on the top of my foot and I took a zanex before going this time, and didn't feel a thing...haha I'm not by any means suggesting medicating yourself (because mine was a perscription for anxiety, so I am not condoning drug use what-so-ever!), but prepare yourself it does hurt and there's really nothing you can do about it- not trying to be a negative nancy; just the truth! Just make sure you eat, don't drink or do a few shots before to relax yourself because (I know a lot of people that do this) and it just thins out your blood and will make it worse. Try going to a hooka bar before, or medating, a hott bath, anythng to get you in a chill mind set... put some head phones in and tune the pain out. Pain can be mind over matter, if you accept it's going to hurt and just breath- breathing is deff key! xo.

Ill probably bring something sugary! I tend to pass out with shots and I almost did when I got my belly button priced. Lol. Maybe ill take an Advil or something! Lol I hoe I have a less painful experience than Amanda!

You probably will, the best part about where you're getting it though is that you can't see what they're doing so you can just laydown and put headphones in and make sure you eat before because you have to be really still while they're doing their work so you can't be moving and eating you know? Candy you can suck on or gum would work though! I'm sure you will be fine, I just wasn't expecting it to be as painful because everyone was like oh it's no big deal! But it does hurt..I survived all of mine, I promise you it's well worth the pain! the one on my foot is huge and took four hours and I survived it, yours shouldn't take longer than a half hour because it's not that big and there isn't a lot of shading or color to be done, which is the worst pain becuase the shading needles bigger (I think) good luck, love!

Btw, I almost passed out when I got my belly button pierced too, that was the worst pain to me- it was worse than getting the dermal in my throat. And also, I don't think advil will really do anything or help at all... it will only hurt while they're doing it- it won't hurt after or be sore, it might just throb from the blood and humming of the needle.. just make sure you go in with calm nerves, that's the most important part- don't physch yourself out!! :)
