Hi Emily,
What color are you lifting from? Is it the dark brown that is in your profile picture? Also is your hair currently dyed? If so is it a permanent, demi permanent or semi permanent. Lastly, what color are you trying to achieve in the very end?

Your going to need an on the scalp lightner. and 20 vol developer n you will probably have to do it twice. and you will prob need a combination of blue and violet toner but if your hair ends up really damaged from the lightner it may pic up the blue violet n turn that color. with something like this a salon is really a better choice then at home. but hope I helped.

That is going to be pretty hard to lift. You may want to see a stylist and do it gradually over a few weeks/months. They will be able to lift it to a light brown then to a golden blonde then finally to a natural blonde.
If you are on a budget and truly want to attempt it at home, make sure to use a color remover kit first. It will take out the color and leave you with a very calico color.
As for bleach, go with a purple or blue bleach (I prefer blue but honestly cannot give any logic behind it - I just find it works better). Lift with a 20-30 vol developer with full foils. You may have to have a friend help you with this as it's hard to accurately distribute the bleach to the hair with foils.
It is going to be pretty brassy so I recommend toning it with Wella Color Charm T18 with a 10-20 vol developer.
You will of course need to do this again after a few days and you still may have a bit of brassiness. Be patient.
Also, in between, wash your hair with a purple based shampoo such as Clairol Shimmer Lights.
Good luck! Be sure to share pictures of your final result! xo

I use Clairol premium 10 only at home. I would lighten two shades at time over a period of a couple of months if you want to lighten your hair to blond at home.
