Unrefined coconut oil. Put in on dry and leave it in for a minimum of 2 hours or over night if possible. Shampoo out and condition as usual. Aragan oil, such as Moroccan oil, or maraquesh oil are great for daily use. Apply to damp hair and style as usual. You can also add a little on dry hair as a frizz tamer or polishing gloss. Try and use only sulphate free shampoos.

Wash a bit less but you can condition every day. Try using a leave in conditioner everyday when you get out of the shower- think about it like moisturizer for your hair- like you would for your skin ( depending on the texture of your hair you can use a spray leave in - for finer hair - or a cream leave in- for coarse & fuzzy) Use a deep conditioning mask once a week for 10 minutes after you shampoo. Davines Nou Nou Pak, Morrocan Oil Repair, & Joico K-Pak are my favourites. If you're going to use heat on your hair make sure you use a moisturizing protecting cream styler as well as the all other stuff to protect & shield your hair. Never flat iron on raw hair! It's like frying your hair like an egg!
Remember hair is a porous material. It has a cuticle & a core. You want to smooth ,moisturize & protect it when it's been compromised.
Also, if you're going to finish off your styling routine with a bit of shine using Moroccan oil , or Davines Oi Oil, ( also my favourites- but other companies make the same thing) always start at the bottom with shine products or oils , & work your way up so you don't get greasy roots!
And yes you can do avocado masks etc.
Try to use professional shampoos & conditioning products though- they're made better, & there's more science put into them to make sure they work. Professional hair product companies are really after hairdressers to believe in them- they are trying to prove to us that their products work & are the best- because they know if we don't like them & think they're amazing- we won't sell them! ;)

( that's if your hair is long- probably 4-6 weeks if its shorter) but the more you go , the less you have to get cut off! I really love my job! ;)

I've done the same thing as you with the heat & dye. I started using a product called "it's a 10 miracle leave in" back in November and I've used it every single time I've washed my hair since then. It's a little pricey around $18 but its amazing! It does 10 things for your hair including a heat protectant. I buy it at my salon but I've seen it on amazon & at Kroger!
