Hi, my name is Precious Ellis. I graduate next year from GSU... I'm going to school to become a high-school teacher. I did not want to go Into my field looking like a student. I have never worn make-up. I don't know where to begin, or which make up to wear. So can someone please help me. I feel If the students think I look like them they will not respect me. I have been told that make-up will damage your skin. PLEASE HELP!

If you're worried about the makeup damaging your skin in some way maybe start with lipstick and mascara. That'll give a polished look without the need to apply product to your face.

Always put a moisturiser on before doing your makeup to help prevent your skin being damaged, also just have a look at tutorials on the Internet they will help you a lot! X.

I was thinking that make up will damage my skin as well. But I have kind of oily skin with pores, so without make up on the blackheads were appearing. I found bio foundation and my skin feels really good. I can say that it actually protects it.

Omg you are so beautiful...in my opinion you don't need make up...just a lip gloss will do :)

I think you look fabulous! I would maybe go to the department store or sephora and see what advice they give you. And you don't have to buy anything/everything they suggest. And if you buy anything, get it home and change your mind, it's usually all returnable. Good luck! It's a makeup jungle out there!:)

Honestly your skin is beautiful! You really don't need a heavy foundation, especially if you're worried about damaging your skin. You could just put on a little powder to control oil if you've got oily skin. Also, because your skin is such a beautiful dark chocolate color, you could get away with really bold colors and it wouldn't look too crazy. A red lip would be beautiful on you, with maybe a shimmery champagne eye and mascara.

If you're worried about damage try starting out with something for sensitive skin or with a tined moisturizer instead of foundations. Also the best thing you can do is research products before you buy them. Good luck.

Also, if you are worried about damaging your skin, look out for products that are "non-comedonegenic (sp?)" ie ingredients that won't clog your pores and make sure you double cleanse at night. I agree with the ladies above on experimenting with rich colors. If you are nervous of them, try using jewel toned eyeliners. For base makeup, maybe a tinted moisturizer? Something that won't be too heavy.

I would use a tinted moisturizer and a deep colored lipstick. Don't forget mascara and eyeliner if you aren't afraid.

Don't use any foundation. You can fill in your eyebrows a little with a dark brown to black pencil and just use some mascara to make your eye lashes longer and fuller a little bit of liquid eye liner would be cute. Don't use a lot of make up keep some of your natural beauty.
