I know right! but I always get "why do I want them" or dirty looks whenever I say I want them or people say I'm going to hurt my son with them :( its discouraging

I get my nails done all the time really long can't live without them and I have a baby! Go for it! It you don't like them then you can just get them removed.

IMO you should get them and see for yourself if it affects your baby in anyway. If there are any probs you can just have them removed or file them down.
