Please help!! I've dealt with uneven skin tone for the longest time, and it has always been around my mouth and to me it seems like a mustache, I know it's not the hair because I remove them. But no matter what I do it always seems to be there and sometimes I feel like it's getting worse. I've been to the dermatologist and have been prescribed retin-A and ambi fade cream but neither helped at all! I've been struggling with it for about 5 years now and no medication seems to help. I use spf 15 and regularly cleanse my face, but honestly nothing seems to change! This is something that bothers me very much and something I am really insecure about :( Please help.

How long did you use the retin-a and ambi? Are you exfoliating and using a vitamin C serum? Are you reapplying your SPF?

@Alexis C I used the retin-a for about 4-5 months and the ambi cream was given to me to use because retin-a didn't work, I used ambi for about 2-3 months. I don't consistently exfoliate and I have not used a vitamin c serum. I only use spf when I head out but I do not reapply.

You need to reapply your SPF otherwise you're not getting the protection all throughout the day so reapply about every 2 hours. A vitamin C serum will help fade any darkness/discoloration when used consistently and paired with SPF. You should be exfoliating consistently as well, once or twice a week with a physical exfoliator or daily with a gentle chemical exfoliator.

Hello Jessy! I'm going to move this thread to Skincare, this doesn't belong in "Nails". Please make sure you double check the category before posting!

If you have the money to invest I really like their 1% retinol booster. It's a bit spendy for the price but it's really good at helping pores, texture, and lines.
For general acne treatment I like their Clear body spray, and yes, I use it on my face. It's strong enough but still feels relatively light and layers well. Just don't start everyday off the bat.
