All these types of sponges stain as they are absorbent in their very nature..highly porous, but your sponge is deteriorating, which compromises it's integrity as a whole. In the photo, it appears to have cracked and be missing pieces.
I wouldn't use the sponge at this point, not because of any stain issue, but instead because the sponge itself is compromised. What do you use to clean it? It appears to be eroding. How long did it take before you saw this type of change in the sponge?
Not all sponges enjoy the same life span as they aren't identical.

The cracked and missing pieces are because I tried to scrub it with my mat I use to clean my brushes. I was trying to get the ring of foundation out because it always happens to me. I use baby shampoo to clean my sponge and my brushes. Do you possibly know why I get that ring of foundation around it?

In scrubbing, you're actually destroying the sponge. Everyone gets stains...yours just happens to form in a ring, perhaps because of the pattern in which you use it...where product gathers with your use, etc. My own gets stains and those are usually on the ends. That's because that is where the most foundation is absorbed through my routine use. It's not an indication that the sponge isn't sanitary but if this discoloration bothers you, this video should help keep them to a minimum.

I would dispose of the sponge in the photo, however. Hope that is of help.

It was bothering me so much that I tried to scrub it to see if it would come out but I ruined my sponge. I bought a new one though (: ohh okay I see. Thank you so much Rozberry!
