Can I ask what Vitamin C serum does to your skin and to the scar itself? I have scars on my face as well and that might be a route I'd take too.

Vitamin C in higher doses essentially inhibits your skin's tendency to over-produce pigment in places that have been recently wounded or exposed to the sun, without bleaching the surrounding skin. It's also a potent antioxidant and stimulates collagen, but that's secondary to the function we're discussing here.
However, it is important to note that a good vitamin c product will do little if the rest of your routine is not conducive to avoiding/reducing pigmentation. What does your skincare routine look like?

Vitamin E works wonders on my skin (and mine is acne prone so I get some scars too :( ), and it will fade the scars very quickly.
