Hey all, I recently bought a tube of Püare Bare It All foundation, and while I do like it, it cakes up very weirdly around my pores and makes it look like I've got freckles where my pores are.
I was wondering if anyone had the same problem, and what primers/methods they've been using to deal with it?

Don't know why it's coming out as a weird name, but that should be Pur above

That is an incredibly thick, full coverage foundation. How are you layering it?
What do you use for application and what primer are you using? Are you spot priming? What is your skin type?

Oh yes, it completely is. I haven't used it a ton, but I've tried it with the Nyx photo perfecting primer and with the Too faced hangover primer. Usually I'm using a small amount of foundation, a little bit smaller than a dime sized amount with either a flat top buffing brush or a beauty blender. I haven't tried spot priming, and my skin type is oily mostly. I don't really have a lot of acne, but some occasionally.

Hmmm... I don't full coverage often, but I do hoard samples and try to test out as many as I can. (I thought is was lovely and hydrating without bringing an oily feel to the skin. I run very dry by nature.)
Too Faced Hangover is water-based, but with added oil. ( It has oils in in the ingredients) It's not even about if the primer is working with the foundation (I'm sure it could for some people), but for your oily skin, you are adding a layer of oil when you use that primer, when what you need is something for oil control. To reduce that oil. I'd lay down a base that does not bring more oil to the skin. I also think the other primer is so high in slip agents that maybe you're not getting proper adhering in this particular instance. I think a water-based, oil-free, oil-control primer would work best for your skin.
I do not trust most youtube influencers, but I feel that "thataylaa" is excellent with regard to foundation reviews, especially. This video she's applying it (and she shares her oil control, water-based primer which does not have any added oils, Jouer Anti-Blemish Matte Primer). Her application is flawless and so this may provide some insight. She's not using any crazy expensive tools and so that's a plus.

If you don't have any way to sample Jouer, I don't know of any dupe for Jouer, but maybe another board member does. I was really wowed by how little product was needed and the crazy-long wear it gives. I wouldn't give up on it yet. I didn't have any caking but I used a pea size and I did use CeraVe PM as my primer.
If you don't care for or want to jump into Jouer, you can also try just using a very light, water-based moisturizer, like I used, and then powder only where you get oily. CeraVe PM is a great oily-skin and acne friendly moisturizer that has added healing ingredients for acne and helps calms skin. It offers a hint of hydration, but not that olive oil that the Too Faced Hangover has. There's a $2 coupon on the CeraVe website and you can find it at any drugstore. That isn't going to control oil, but with a powder, you may find that combo works for you. Even if it didn't, it's still great for soothing and healing acne and a fantastic oily-skin moisturizer so you aren't wasting your funds. I do think the Jouer would be the way to go because it's a fantastic formulation. But, that's your call and budget, of course.
If you find pores are still an issue, you can spot prime, but I don't think you'll need to. I really do hope that helps.
