I've wanted for a while to be able to pull my hair back into a ponytail, but on the left side of my head, when I lift up some of the hair, it's bald in a section. I don't know how or when this happened. Is there any possible way for me to grow this hair back?

You should absolutely see a doctor, especially since you don't know why or when it happened. You should get checked out and make sure you don't have a medical condition or vitamin deficiency.
