Skin Tone Problemss!

K, so I am a ginger/red head, which means I am always naturally pale. The problem is that all over my body especially the chest area you can see veins. I don't know what I should do because I tend to get picked on about it, especially during bikini season. Would it look bad if I used a self tanner? Any tips? Help!!!
